About us

Oyee Green Foundation (OGF) is a national non- profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering environmental awareness, promoting sustainable practices, Biodiversity conservation and advocating for ecological preservation in local communities across South Sudan. Oyee Green Foundation emerged in response to the growing urgent need for effective environmental education and action in addressing pressing issues such as climate change, pollution, resource depletion and habitat degradation. By uniting diverse community stakeholders – local communities, local businesses, schools, and governmental bodies, Oyee Green Foundation through collaboration, education, and proactive measures seeks to cultivate a culture of environmental responsibility and inspire sustainable development for generations at the local level and create a lasting change for our communities.
The name “Oyee” is derived from expressions of joy, positivity and celebration. The term “Oyee” further conveys a message of optimism and possibility, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and encouraging active participation in environmental stewardship. Oyee Green Foundation aims to be a beacon of environmental hope and action within the communities in South Sudan.
