About us

Brisbane Catchments Network Inc. (BCN) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that represents the 11 member catchment groups across Brisbane. These groups cover all the major streams flowing into the river in the greater Brisbane area.

What we do
By bringing all of these member groups together under one umbrella organisation we are able to provide a unified voice, strategic direction and collaborative opportunities to maintaining or restoring our creeks and the Brisbane River.

Collaboration is central to everything that we do and we regularly collaborate with government, industry and other not-for-profit organisations.

Through these partnerships we aim to achieve the best outcomes for our natural environment and work towards targets within the SEQ Natural Resource Management Plan.

We deliver on-ground restoration activities throughout the Brisbane River, both through the Brisbane Catchments Network and our 11 member groups, as well as developing community led strategies and providing strategic advice to all levels of government.

We believe strongly in the sharing of ideas to increase capacity of our members groups and our monthly meetings are dedicated to this as well as promoting active discussion amongst our members.

Community is what we are all about, with many member groups largely volunteer based, and we try to engage, educate and excite the community about our natural environment and our beautiful creeks in the Brisbane region.
