About us
At Community Action Works, we believe that environmental threats are big, but the power of well-organized community groups is bigger. That’s why we work side by side with everyday people to confront those who are polluting and harming the health of our communities. Many of our partners have borne a disproportionate burden of pollution, forced by their lack of political power to accept polluting facilities and projects. Other partners are confronting new problems, from gas or oil pipelines to pesticide contamination. We work with people from all walks of life to gain and wield the power they need to defend and improve the environment and health of their communities.
