In 2004, Environmental Association initiated a protection and conservation program for the butterflies at Fung Yuen, Hong Kong. In November 2005, the Environment and Conservation Fund sponsored a “Pilot Scheme of Management Agreements Project on the Private Land with High Conservation Value at Fung Yuen Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest”, part of the “New Nature Conservation Policy” pilot scheme for the duration of two years. The project has proved a success Management Agreement scheme, and Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve carries on their mission on ecological, biodiversity and environmental conservation.
