About us
GenØk – Center for Biosafety was founded in 1998 and is a non-profit, independent foundation located in research environments at UiT Norway's Arctic University and SIVA Innovation Center Tromsø. GenØk's vision is the safe use of biotechnology. The foundation carries out research into the environmental, health and social consequences of the use of genetic technology and gene modification. GenØk also runs extensive information activities and consultancy within its area of expertise.
