About us

Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) is a registered non-profit non-governmental organization which was established in 1992 as a result of a young British trekker Tracey Taylor who died while climbing Island Peak. The aim of the project established in memory of Tracey Taylor which was to increase environmental awareness associated with the negative impacts of tourism in the Khumbu region of Nepal. KEEP aims to ensure the future ecological and cultural prosperity of Nepal and its people by maximizing the benefits and reducing the negative impacts associated with tourism.
