About us
Life & Environment (L&E) is an Israeli not-for-profit environmental NGO that serves the local environmental movement. Since its establishment in 1975, L&E has been operating under the Planning and Building Act, under which it was assigned as the umbrella organization of the environmental movement with representation rights in the National Council for Planning and Construction. Starting 2017, since the appointment of acting Executive Director Mr. Eran Ben Yemini, the organization has re-evaluated its role as the representing umbrella organization, and currently operates various projects in service of the environmental movement, with over 140 national and local member organizations, overseeing complex cross-sectoral processes to maximize impact and to promote a better shared future for all in Israel.
