About us

Northern Rivers Wildlife Carers Inc. is a not-for-profit network of trained volunteers that is licensed to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured or orphaned wildlife for release back into the wild. This locally based independent organization has been part of the Northern Rivers community since 1992.

Northern Rivers Wildlife Carers Inc. is a member of the NSW Wildlife Council.

Northern Rivers Wildlife Carers Inc. covers Ocean Shores in the north New Italy in the south, Byron Bay in the east to Tabulam in the west. This is one of the largest areas covered by any wildlife caring group in NSW.

In New South Wales, the rescue, rehabilitation and release of native animals is regulated by the Office of Environment & Heritage.
