About us

We are an NGO for the Protection of Homeless Animals - ”Alga”, which was founded in 2006. The aim was to find and implement humane solution in the animals protection, especially when it comes to talk about stray animals population management.

We consider that it is possible to solve the stray dogs problems without applying cruel methods. In order to achieve this it is necessary to elaborate and implement a complex of legislative, informative and veterinarian measures, from community level to the country level. Because, in the end we all would like that there would be less dogs in the streets, therefore, it remains only to choose the right methods and measures.

We don’t have a shelter or a special brigade for intervention for cases when, for example, some puppies or kittens are found, or there is necessity to spay/neuter some stray dogs or a dog is injured. We can only intervene depending on the available time and resources.

We are a group of people that want to improve the welfare of animals in our country, one of the reasons is that we think they make our life more beautiful and we are going to benefit as individuals and as society as a whole.
