About us

The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) was established in 1995 as an independently managed, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO). We are the only recognized member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) in Singapore. The GEN is a non-profit association of leading eco-labeling organisations worldwide. In 2018, SEC was granted United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) accredited environmental NGO status. We influence thinking on sustainability issues and coordinate environmental efforts in Singapore and the region. We are an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC) with tax exemption status to donors.
