About us
The Society for Biodiversity Preservation is a non-profit organization (under IRC Sec. 501(c)(3)) founded by scientists and educators to protect earth’s natural capital through local biodiversity improvement projects and educational programs. Why Should We Care & Why We Do What We Do We must protect all species for their own sake. This is an ethical and moral obligation incumbent on humans since ecosystem destruction, particularly habitat loss or fragmentation, and accelerated climate change that is rapidly driving species to extinction are the direct results of human activities. Human survival and well-being are entirely dependent on other species and ecosystem services for essential needs such as food, water, and air, and also for the conveniences of modern life. We strive to slow the trend of biodiversity loss and eventually reverse it through local habitat conservation projects across the world undertaken/performed by citizen scientists.
