About us

In December 1977, when the world was in a state of chaos due to the energy wave, the Korean Society for Solar Energy has a vocation to contribute to energy independence and global environment conservation by developing and distributing clean and alternative energy to Korea, which has to import almost all of its energy. It was founded as a ritual and continues to this day. Infinite and pollution-free solar energy can be the best alternative to finite fossil fuels and the best way to preserve the global environment, and it can be a starting point for sustainable development.
The Korean Society of Solar Energy contributes to academic and industrial development through research and technology development on new and renewable energy such as solar construction, solar energy conversion, solar power generation, natural light, wind power, small hydro, geothermal, biomass, energy storage technology, and policy. are trying to do. In connection with the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), it is playing a role in promoting domestic related technologies and disseminating advanced technologies to Korea by exchanging information and holding international academic conferences. ISES publishes 'Solar Energy', an SCI journal, and is affiliated with solar energy societies in more than 100 countries under the umbrella of the International Solar Energy Society. Our Solar Energy Society is building an international network through ISES and participating in solving the global problem of global warming.
