About us

As educators and technologists, we believe that education and appropriate technologies have the power to change the world.  Our Managing Director, Prof. Mukerji, is Vice-Chairman of the Centre of Science for Villages (CSV), our official partner for the environment.  He is also on Maharashtra's Eco-Tourism Development Board, appointed by the leadership of the state.  Community leaders Salim, Mukesh, and Jitesh were invited to go to CSV in Wardha, and they learned first-hand various ecologically-friendly technologies to adopt in our community, including solar power, biogas, sun-baked air-pocket (thermal) bricks, eco-architectural design, and water harvesting and filtration.

In fact, beyond promoting eco-technologies in our community and beyond, we use filtered water and solar energy at our Usha Sewing Schools -- clean energy for community growth!  80% of diseases are water-borne, and preventing illness is even more powerful than medical treatment.  Our teachers and students enjoy good health and productivity, plus our medical camps see fewer cases of water-borne illnesses.
