About us

The UPLB Foundation Incorporated (UPLBFI) is a non-stock, non-profit, non-stock private corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 17, 1977. It was established by top officials of the University of the Philippines Los Baños mainly to encourage, support and assist said University in the financing and implementation of science and technology-related projects and programs dedicated to the pursuit of national development and human welfare. As a science foundation duly accredited and certified by the Department of Science and technology and by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification, UPLBFI has been registered by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as a donee institution where donors are entitled to full or limited tax deduction. by virtue of an Agreement with the University of the Philippines, UPLBFI is able to tap on the physical and manpower resources particularly of UP Los Baños including the complement of experts from the faculty and staff of its diverse academic units. UPLBFI is mainly engage in research, management of degree oriented programs and short term training courses, conduct of surveys and provision of consultancy services covering a wide range of concerns in agriculture and rural development, forestry, biotechnology, veterinary science, engineering, food science, economics and management, development communication, public affairs including agrarian issues and concerns, environmental science and management, sociology, applied biology and aquaculture. It also provides support to research and development activities of UPLB as well as members of the Los Baños Science and Technology Community.
