About us

Corteco AB is a Stockholm, Sweden-headquartered group of specialist companies focused entirely on sustainable renovation and maintenance of existing buildings' external shells — roofs, windows, facades, garages, courtyards, balconies, and solar-panel installation — across Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Rather than operating as a single contractor, Corteco is structured as a holding group of entrepreneurial trade specialists (including Grundels, founded 1982 in Karlstad; Viking Entreprenør, founded 2005; Plåtslagaren, founded 1982 in Stockholm; A. Hansen Gruppen, with 50 years of experience; Fog & Fönster, over 30 years in window renovation; and Suomen Saneeraustalo in Finland, founded 2015), brought together to deliver complete building-envelope renovation solutions through inter-company collaboration.

Corteco's stated rationale for building-shell renovation is that upgrading a property's exterior envelope can significantly reduce a building's energy consumption — lowering both operating costs and carbon footprint — while also restoring original architectural details that have been obscured by decades of weathering, improving the surrounding urban landscape. Several group companies (including Interoc) have carried out extensive facade and window renovation work on Sweden's 'Miljonprogrammet' ('Million Programme') housing stock — large-scale mid-20th-century apartment developments that represent a major target for national energy-efficiency retrofit efforts.

Corteco states that sustainability permeates everything it does, from how projects are executed to how employees are developed and companies managed, and it operates a third-party whistleblowing service to uphold high standards of business ethics across the group.
