About us
The Department of Environmental Sciences (DCAm) was created in 2012 with the aim of consolidating a new area of knowledge at UFSCar through the creation of an academic unit focused on Environmental Sciences. The DCAm is based on a teaching nucleus responsible for most of the disciplines of the Bachelor's Degree in Management and Environmental Analysis, created in 2009, also contributing to the Bachelor's and Licentiate's Degree in Biological Sciences, Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology, Gerontology and Civil Engineering. DCAm professors also work mostly in the Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences, created in 2013 with Master's and Doctorate courses. In this way, DCAm contributes to the identity and continuous academic improvement of these courses, in addition to fostering and expanding lines of research and extension activities related to Environmental Sciences.
