On March 2017 Meptagon Green, led by an experienced team of professionals with more than 50 years of combined experience in managing hydro projects worldwide as well as other large scale infrastructure projects, founded MG Renewables. The company’s goal is to build a portfolio of up to 60 MW of operating assets in the next 5 years in Georgia. The region has large unused hydro potential and rapidly increasing local electricity consumption. As the region has the high growth rate it is necessary that new capacities meet this growth in demand. The region is also close to major consumers such as Russia and Turkey. The main strategy of the company is an acquisition of undervalued Hydro Power Assets in Georgia, developing and operating them. The management team has extensive experience in green energy project optimization and rehabilitation.
