Environmental Consulting Solutions (ECS) - Marjorie Weidenfeld Buckholtz is the President and Founder of Environmental Consulting Solutions (ECS) which provides services to private and public sector entities in the areas of environmental policy, strategic communication, and government relations. Ms Buckholtz is well known for expertise in a broad array of environmental areas, particularly brownfields, solid and hazardous waste cleanup issues and innovative strategies for outreach, marketing and communication. Her approach integrates substantive know-how, critical networks and creative problem solving During her twenty-five year career at EPA, Ms. Buckholtz was the National Brownfields Program Coordinator, providing years of leadership to the signature program she developed in 1992. Her efforts brought accolades to EPA, including The 2000 Innovations in Government Award Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government; the Renew America Excellence in Government Award in 1999, and the 2001 Hammer Award from then Vice President Al Gore. Ms. Buckholtz personally received numerous awards from EPA as well. Later, she led the Office of Innovation, Partnerships and Communication (IPCO) in the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) at EPA. She was named Alumna of the Year from Webster University, School of Communication, (2004), and In 2007, the Montgomery County, Maryland Business and Professional Women's Association selected her as a Woman of Achievement, for her contributions to economic growth and community revitalization through the Brownfields program. Ms. Ms. Buckholtz was selected for an Intergovernmental Personnel Act Assignment in 2005, and spent three years as special projects director a nonprofit organization in northern Virginia. Most recently, she has been working with a DC consulting firm, on a variety of corporate sustainability and government assistance projects.
