About us

SYKE provides open data and information for building a sustainable environment and society. Information is available e.g. surface and groundwater, the Baltic Sea, environmental pressures and disturbances, valuable natural environments, land cover and the built environment.

The data can be utilized by deploying interface services, spatial and satellite observation data, data stored in environmental information systems and applications.

The data have been produced and collected mainly by the state environmental administration agencies, especially the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) and the Centers for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY).
