About us

Green The Chain is an evidence-based ESG platform built on a simple belief: sustainable choices should be easy and accessible for everyone. Supply chains account for over 80% of greenhouse gas emissions and 90% of environmental impacts worldwide — including biodiversity loss, deforestation, and water insecurity — which makes them one of the most powerful levers for real environmental change. Our platform exists to pull on that lever by simplifying sustainable sourcing, connecting like-minded organizations, and giving buyers and suppliers the transparency they need to make commerce and conservation work together instead of against each other.

We score organizations and their products across three pillars — Environment, People, and Animals & Biodiversity — covering everything from greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and resource efficiency to labor standards, biodiversity support, and animal welfare, all grounded in rigorous research and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Rather than taking sustainability claims at face value, we assess real, measurable actions and label every score with a clear evidence level — Certified, Self-Evidenced, or No Evidence — so buyers can see exactly what's behind a claim, and suppliers (including smaller businesses without the budget for formal certifications) get genuine credit for the progress they're making. We believe sustainability is a journey, not a destination, and we built Green The Chain to help move that journey forward — one choice at a time.
