Larry, not even stabilizers and emulsifiers! These was one of multiple phrases from the founder to the factory managers attempts to include additives to products to increase shelf life. Comparing to other products in the market and to decrease product returns, Larry was concerned about the economics of the project. On the other hand, the founder only had one aspect in mind and that became Kuwait Agros guiding principle; natural farming that is closest to its natural state as possible!

The whole idea of Kuwait Agro started quite far from Kuwait in Switzerland! Mr. Jamil Sultan was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stomach cancer. During his time away from the hospital, he developed the hobby of crafting cheese in the houses two car garage. And this was only the beginning.

Upon his return to homeland Kuwait, being a successful entrepreneur, Jamil was more determined than ever to pursue another new venture that catered to his latest hobby. He bought a large farm in Wafra and named it after his oldest daughter, Yasmin. This became his primary focus despite the physical pains he was undergoing during his treatments. His vision was clear; this farm will provide natural products to my beloved country. He initially worked on two fronts; (1) he hired people to help him cultivate the land to produce high-quality chemical-free produce, and (2) he hired a reputable dairy consultant to erect a state-of-the-art factory to produce artisan dairy product with no additives, no preservatives, and no artificial flavors and colors. He insisted that the factory would not be fully automated to keep the human touch to product-making (especially on cheeses, labna, etc.).

Following the success of the farming and dairy projects, Jamil initiated the third pillar of Kuwait Agro the poultry layer division. His desire was to produce a higher quality table egg for locals consumption. Eggs would be free-range exceeding and/or matching European comparables imported into Kuwait. Unlike imported eggs, produced eggs would be provided daily to the market.

Now, since Kuwait Agros inception in 2007, Kuwait Agrois one of the largest privately-owned agricultural companies in Kuwait channeling to a large network of supermarkets and cooperatives across Kuwait. It has main divisions; (1) Alban Dairy providing artisan dairy products with no additives, no preservatives, and no artificial colors / flavors, (2) Farmers Market providing natural, chemical-free produce to the market from Yasmin Farm and other local producers, and (3) Farmers market providing European standard free-range table eggs to the local market.

Although Mr Jamil Sultan is no longer with us (may his soul rest in peace), but his vision and principles still lay as the founding blocks to all of Kuwait Agros current operations.
