About us

Lean Energy Solutions is a renewable energy company established in 2007, with operations across East
Africa. The company focuses on supporting industrial decarbonization by enabling industries to
transition from fossil fuels to renewable biomass for thermal energy.

Its core activities include the development and operation of biomass boiler projects under a Build-Own-
Operate model, biomass briquette manufacturing, and industrial energy audits. Lean Energy partners
with industrial clients to replace fossil fuel boilers with biomass systems powered by locally available
agricultural residues such as maize cobs, coffee husks, and other organic waste streams.
It operates in the specialised space of industrial utility outsourcing, under the business model popularly
known as Build-Own-Operate

Through its operations, the company transforms agricultural waste into a reliable, sustainable industrial
fuel—reducing landfill waste, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing energy resilience for
its clients.
