About us
The idea of establishing the Man-Made River Project is based mainly on facing the severe water shortage that coastal areas suffer from, whether for urban, agricultural or industrial use, by transferring huge amounts of groundwater in each of the Tazirbu and Sarir basins to the coast, using prestressed concrete pipes with diameters up to To (four meters) to transfer quantities of water amounting to (2 million) cubic meters per day, as a first stage, to be followed by other stages stemming from huge groundwater reservoirs spread geographically in the regions of the south of Libya in each of Jabal Al-Hasawneh, Ghadames and Al-Kufra, which abound with the availability of abundant quantities of water Fresh water will be transported through the integrated man-made river project systems about (6.4 million) cubic meters of water per day, and there is no doubt that such a huge project requires huge investments for its construction.
