A mended ocean in which marine wildlife thrivesand from which civil society benefits
Little is known about open ocean wildlife compared to that lives along our costs. Most of what we know is limited to open ocean sharks and tunas and is derived from fisheries data and telemetry. To address this need, we adapted stereo-baited remote underwater video systems (BRUVS), long used in the study of benthic communities to the mid-water environment. Mid-water BRUVS has now being used on more than 70 expeditions at 30 locations since 2014.
