About us
MIM Vlora was established in March 2019 as a regional waste management center in the Northern Waste Zone, covering the municipalities of Vlora and Selenica. The introduction of sustainable regional waste management practices – sanitary landfill, sorting of recyclable waste, composting – goes together with the supply of new equipment for urban waste collection and is supported by the German-Albanian Cooperation through the KfW Development Bank in within the framework of the Integrated Urban Waste Management Program in Vlora. The various activities of the Program are coordinated by the National Agency of Water Supply, Sewerage and Waste Infrastructure (AKUM). The program supports the National Waste Management Strategy and the harmonization of Albanian standards with EU environmental standards.
