About us

Four billion people, almost two-thirds of the world’s population, already face water scarcity. And yet 70% of our planet is covered in water. The challenge is that almost all of it is saltwater.At SEA Water, we turn that challenge into an opportunity. Using renewable energy, we transform abundant seawater into high-quality drinking water. We started in IJmuiden, the Netherlands. Today, we have a proven blueprint and the ambition to scale this solution globally.SEA Water is packaged in endlessly recyclable aluminium cans and returnable glass bottles. Our modular and scalable systems use up to 75% less energy than conventional desalination and can be deployed anywhere in the world. All we need is the sun and the sea.SEA Water is not just a brand, but a new way of thinking about water. Our mission is to shift the narrative around desalination, raise awareness about growing water scarcity, and challenge unsustainable consumption habits. For every can sold, part of the proceeds supports impact partners that protect and restore oceans and ecosystems.This is how we transform scarcity into abundance.
