About us

In 2007, one small wind turbine was erected on an off grid property on North Beach, Haida Gwaii. The turbine generated enough electricity to power lights and tools on the homestead but more importantly it generated an unexpected amount of interest and excitement around the possibilities for renewable energy capacity on our isolated island. 
Spark! was a company born out of necessity. Fast forward 12 years and you will find solar panels on roof tops,  in trees, and on moving homes such as RV's and boats, in every corner of Haida Gwaii. It is no longer considered pioneering technology; renewables are fast becoming the norm. 
And no electrical company is complete without an excellent electrician. In its 12th year Spark! welcomes FSR Master Electrician Brendan Hallihan to the team. Brendan brings high energy and vision to Spark! and he's a really nice guy.
