Located in Farmersville, CA, The Ugly Company, Inc., is a food CPG start-up that prevents food waste by transforming ugly fruit into healthy dried fruit snacks. In just 2022 alone, we prevented 2.17 million pounds of fruit from being wasted and we’re just getting started. Our vision is to achieve zero food waste at farms globally. After closing our $9MM Series A funding round, winning the Go Fresh & Local Competition at Kroger, and earning nationwide distribution in Sprouts, The Ugly Company is poised for significant growth in 2023. Origin Story The Ugly Company was founded in 2018 by Fourth Generation Farmer Ben Moore. Growing up in the Central Valley of California, Ben witnessed farms throw away millions of pounds of fresh produce due to minor cosmetic imperfections or market conditions. After years of seeing this Ugly truth first-hand, he knew something had to be done – thus The Ugly Company was born.
