We are a for profit enterprise with a deliberate social and environmental mission. Our products & services target low income people and advance local entrepreneurship (esp. youth and women) and are conscious of leaving a positive environmental footprint. Central to the vision and mission of Wala is our desire to trade in a manner that ensures positive social and environmental impacts, while still realising positive and attractive financial returns in all our business. As such, Wala aims to: Develop and implement a financially sustainable business model, primarily financed through the sale of solar powered productive technology to farmers. Prioritise positive social impact in and through our business, distributing products that respond to the needs of rural and low-income people in Malawi – both in functionality and affordability. We innovate and facilitate a better quality of life for Malawi’s farmers due to their increased access to productive solar technology. Where feasible, we integrate low income people as entrepreneurs and employees in our value chain.
