About us

The Ministry of the Environment carries out the policy at the national level in the fields of environmental protection, green economy, biodiversity, natural protected areas, climate change with regard to all the sectors and sub-sectors that it administers, elaborates the strategy and specific regulations for the development and harmonization of these activities within the general policy of the Government, ensures and coordinates the application of the Government's strategy in its fields of competence, fulfilling the role of state authority, of synthesis, coordination, regulation, monitoring, inspection and control in these fields.

The Ministry of the Environment protects the environment and natural resources and guarantees the current and future generations a clean environment, in harmony with economic development and social progress.
