The main tasks and activities of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan
- State management in the field of ecology, environmental protection, rational use of natural resources and reproduction;
- Protection of optimal ecological condition of environment, ecological systems, natural complexes and individual objects, improvement of ecological situation;
- Implementation of state control over compliance with legislation in the field of waste management, organization of an effective system of collection, transportation, placement, processing and disposal of household waste, local authorities and self-government bodies of citizens;
- Carrying out state environmental control over compliance with legislation in the field of protection and use of land, underground resources, water, forests, protected natural areas, flora and fauna, protection of atmospheric air;
- Coordinating ecology and environment protection, ensuring interdepartmental cooperation in the development and implementation of a single environmental and resource saving policy;
- Maintaining state cadastre in the field of ecology and environmental protection, as well as state registration of nurseries for reproduction and maintenance of wild animals, wild plants, zoological and botanical collections;
- Organization of environmental education, promotion and education in the field of ecology and environmental protection, as well as retraining and upgrading of specialists.
