Eco cosmetics is a natural cosmetics that does not contain fragrances, dyes, and synthetic fillers: among the active ingredients, you can most often find natural extracts and oils. In addition to the internal content, the packaging is also important. Now eco-friendly cosmetics brands increasingly use recycled materials and do not test their products on animals. On the shelves of stores, you can find an abundance of cosmetic brands, but they all fall into three main categories according to the type of cosmetics produced: synthetic (regular), natural, and organic (eco). If organic remains quite expensive and has not received such a wide range, then ordinary and natural niches have been competing for the attention of buyers for more than a year. Today, the top eco cosmetics suppliers are: ● LUSH; ● Kota Organics; ● Mine Botanicals; ● Earth’s Enrichments; ● Maine Naturals; ● Kind Soap Company; etc.
As of today, eco-beauty manufacturers like Faith's Naturals or HollyBeth Organics cause a real revolution in the industry due to the following reasons: ● Ingredients are obtained from plants grown in ecologically clean soil without the use of chemical fertilizers and synthetic preparations; ● Production is as safe as possible for the environment; ● Products do not contain synthetic products and artificial ingredients – synthetic preservatives, silicons, parabens, petroleum products, and fragrances. To preserve the properties of cosmetics and extend the shelf life, natural preservatives isolated from plants and essential oils are used; ● Organic cosmetics contain 95% of ingredients of organic origin. 5% of the components can be synthetic, but must be allowed by bio-standards; ● Packaging is made from environmentally friendly biodegradable materials. Unsurprisingly, an average eco-cosmetics company outweighs its conventional competitor in terms of popularity and quality.
Bio-eco-cosmetics have at least 95% natural substances. Most often, these are herbal ingredients. Of course, components of animal origin are also used, such as royal jelly, leech extracts, and even placental cells. These components have proven themselves in deep skin regeneration. But the whole problem is that very typically unscrupulous manufacturers try to save money, so they violate the conditions for cleaning bio-raw materials. But the fact that 95% of the cosmetic product contains only natural plant components does not mean that this cosmetic can be called “bio”. Real biocosmetics should contain natural ingredients that are grown on environmentally friendly plantations. These are all organic herbs that grew in the mountains, on the shores of clear lakes. These plantations are always far from any sources of pollution. In addition, plants on plantations are fertilized only with organic fertilizer. By the way, have you ever wondered what package your biocosmetics are in? If a jar or tube containing cream is harmful to the environment during disposal, this cosmetic cannot be called “bio”. Similar is the case with the cosmetics production process, which should not destroy the environment.
The term “natural” In fact, if the composition contains at least a small part of natural raw materials, then the manufacturer proudly assigns the Natural mark to the product. It turns out that the cheapest body lotion, which has only a little coconut oil among the ingredients, can be considered natural. Brands often take advantage of this and assign such statuses to their products for no particular reason. But if you want to buy truly natural cosmetics, you will have to carefully study the composition, and not blindly trust the labeling on the package. A natural product contains 20-50% natural ingredients. Such a large range is due to different norms in different standards. By the way, the location of natural components in the list is also important here. If they are at the very end, then their amount is insignificant, and the basis is all the same synthetic ingredients. Natural cosmetics contain: ● essential oils; ● extracts; ● components of animal origin; ● artificially modified plant components; ● mineral substances, namely thickeners, pigments, abrasives, and others; ● synthetic preservatives. The term “organic” ● First, organic beauty products are made exclusively from natural ingredients. ● Secondly, not a single living being has been harmed during their creation. ● Thirdly, the production of such shampoos, creams, and other products does not harm the environment. And of course, everything is absolutely safe for human health. In this case, plant raw materials should be grown in ecologically clean places on our planet. GMOs (gene modifications) are excluded. All kinds of pesticides are not used for fertilizer. You may wonder how these plants are cared for because they also suffer from pests, weeds, and diseases. It's simple – for this, manual labor and biological preparations are used, which are completely safe for human health and the environment as a whole. Organic products are completely environmentally friendly because during the cultivation of their components there are no emissions of toxic substances into the atmosphere, water, and soil. The end product is not tested on animals. And after its use, the packaging (jar, vial, etc.) can be recycled. These cosmetics contain organic ingredients grown or mined in ecologically clean corners of the planet. The term “eco-friendly” Eco-friendly beauty brands are often confused with natural ones. They are based on natural ingredients only. There is no place for mineral oils and substances obtained synthetically. It is mandatory to pass strict certification, and the number of components of different types is strictly regulated. Eco-friendly cosmetics contain: ● 95% components of natural origin; ● 50% of the total herbal ingredients must be organic; ● 5% of the components of the total amount of all components must be organic.
