The Arab Youth and Environment Office Association was created by a group of young people who were interested in the environment at a time when the environment was an unknown concept to most people in Egypt and the Arab world. These young people started their activities through the Al-Ahram Science Clubs in the Al-Ahram newspaper and under the auspices of journalist Professor Salah Galal - may God have mercy on him - who was delighted with the thought of these young people and extended a helping hand to achieve their simple dreams and to deal with the new, strange and acute problem that is the environment. The first board of directors of the association was formed in December 1978, and in 1990 the association was officially registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs as a central association under
