About us

Environmental and Rural Mediation Centre (ENVIRUMEDIC), is a non-governmental and Not-for-Profit making organization geared towards promoting the living conditions and protecting the environment of the rural areas in a sustainable way. The organization was founded in the year 2000, registered with the Delta State Government, Ministry of Sports and Youths Development in 2006 and also registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja on the 13th March, 2007. ENVIRUMEDIC is envisioned to create a future where poverty is eradicated and people are living a life of dignity; with a mission to work with the grassroots to promote holistic development programme and improving sexual reproductive health and rights to eradicate poverty and goal to achieve a poverty free rural-urban community in a sustainable way. ENVIRUMEDIC activities has its presence in the Niger Delta area with budget analysis of state governments on critical sectors like Agriculture, Education, Health and Environment; Monitoring and Evaluation of government projects, and Engaging critical stakeholders on Accountability and Transparency issues and Good Financial Management. The organization works on the following thematic areas: Climate Change/Sustainable Environmental Management, Right to food, Agriculture and Nutrition, Right to Just and Democratic Governance including Transparency and Accountability, Right to Human Security during Conflict and Emergencies preparedness, Right to Education, Right to Health, Gender and Women’s Rights, and Child Sponsorship. ENVIRUMEDIC partners with the following organizations: ActionAid Nigeria on Local Rights Programme and Public Financing of Agriculture and Public Service Advocacy; UNDP/Territorial Approach on Climate Change (TACC) Unit, Delta State Ministry of Environment on Eco-stove Project; Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (GACC)/ Nigerian Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (NACC) on Renewable Energy Project; ARFH/CiSHAN/NACO on Community Systems Strengthening ; Smallholder Women Farmers Network (SHOWFAN) on Women in Agriculture; SEEFOR; Wetlands International Africa (WIA) on Sustainable Biodiversity Livelihood Project (SBLP); Health Alive Foundation (HAF) on TB-MDR Project and AFRIHEALTH on Sustainable Citizen’s Participation in the Niger Delta Project. ENVIRUMEDIC uses the following tools in her interventions: Advocacy Tools – Governance; Reflect Methodology – Education; Human Right Based Approach (RBA) – Poverty eradication and Participatory Vulnerability Analysis (PVA) – Conflict resolution and Economic Literacy and Budget Accountability for Governance (ELBAG) – Accountability, Transparency and anti-corruption.
