Milvus Group

About us

The Milvus Group is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of birds and biodiversity in Romania. Founded in 1991 by a group of enthusiastic ornithologists, the organization became an independent NGO in 2001 and is headquartered in Târgu Mureș, Romania. Our work focuses on nature conservation, scientific research, environmental education, and advisory services related to biodiversity and ecosystem management. The Milvus Group is involved in national and international projects aimed at protecting endangered species, restoring habitats, and promoting sustainable coexistence between people and nature. Through its research and outreach activities, the organization contributes to improving environmental policies and raising public awareness about wildlife conservation.  When this was possible, we were involved in the management of 20 protected areas.
