The municipal administrations in the territorial scope of the RISW - Sofia presented short-term action plans, including specific activities aimed at improving and solving problems regarding the cleanliness of populated areas, non-urban areas, including river beds and municipal roads.

The plans were drawn up following the instructions of the director of RISW - Sofia to the mayors of the thirty-six municipalities in their territory to take strict measures to fulfill their commitments for waste management.
All mayors have been instructed to carry out checks for the presence of contaminated land outside the waste disposal sites designated for the purpose in the territory of the respective municipality, including a complete bypass of the riverbeds and adjacent areas of the rivers. If such are found, their cleaning must be organized by the end of March, and the mayors must take measures to prevent further contamination.
