About us

The Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund (Equity Fund) is building power to stop climate change and create an equitable clean energy future through a strategic multi-state initiative that is:
- Investing in the leadership and organizing of diverse communities (Black and Indigenous people, people of color, and others bearing the brunt of climate change)
- Engaging voters in these communities through nonpartisan civic engagement campaigns
- Winning climate and clean energy policy solutions that reflect the priorities of communities and advance racial, economic, and environmental justice
The Equity Fund was founded in 2016.
What We Do
Working in 13 states, the Equity Fund’s grantmaking supports some of the most powerful community-based civic engagement, grassroots organizing, powerbuilding, and voter turnout programs for climate and clean energy solutions in the country. The Equity Fund also supports grantees with its Policy Accelerator, which provides policy coaching, rapid-response policy research, and technical assistance on climate and clean energy policy campaigns; and its Communications Accelerator, which supports grantee partners to develop strategic communications capacity and strategies to combat fossil fuel disinformation and accelerate the pace and scale of change.
