About us

UK Student Climate Network (UKSCN)
UKSCN was set up by a small group of volunteers on 1st December 2018, inspired by Greta Thunberg and the international Fridays For Future movement. Our first national strikes happened on 15th February 2019, and since then young people have mobilised across the country, taking part in monthly Friday strikes, to demand system change in order to halt the climate crisis. We have taken part in global climate strikes, alongside many other countries in March, May and November, and on 20th September 2019, 350,000 students and adults went on strike across the nation, demanding urgent action on the climate crisis. Check out our map of local groups and see how much we’ve grown!
