WRI Indonesia, established in Indonesia under the name yayasan Institut Sumber Dunia, is an independent think tank focused on inclusive and sustainable national socio-economic development. Our work focuses on six key areas: forests, climate, energy, cities and transport, governance, and the ocean. We actualize big ideas into real action at common ground that connect the environment with economic opportunities and human well-being. Established in late 2014 with headquarters in Jakarta, WRI Indonesia is affiliated with the World Resources Institute, a global environmental think tank based in Washington D.C. WRI has a research network of more than 450 experts and staff in more than 50 countries, with offices in China, India, Indonesia, Europe, and the United States. In Indonesia, we have been working on joint projects with our partners for more than 20 years, and WRI Indonesia was established to build a strong domestic presence, formally create partnerships that have been formed, and strengthen our field research.
