About us

Good Earth Natural Foods started as a small co-op between Betty Junek and Katherine Dykstra, back in 1978. Over the years, we have grown in leaps and bounds, from a small operation in a garage, to a 6,000+ square foot retail space on Main Street in Spearfish. Located just 8 miles East of the Wyoming border, just on the tip of the Black Hills National Forest, Spearfish boasts a population of about 10,500 people. From August - May, we also have an additional 5,000 individuals enrolled at our local university, Black Hills State University. Our small, but tight knit community is very involved in the outdoors, with our main industries being tourism and timber. Spearfish is well known for it's mountain bike tracks and races, along with it's excellent hiking trails located on the surrounding mountains and in Spearfish Canyon.
