About us
The Marine Protection Institute "Archipelagos" is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that combines applied scientific research and biodiversity protection actions, in the wider area of the Greek seas and the NE Mediterranean. Since 1998, the Archipelago has focused on combining interdisciplinary research and effective conservation actions, in which local communities are actively involved. This cooperation creates strategic bases that enable and strengthen the activities of the Archipelago at the local, national and European level, with the aim of protecting terrestrial and marine species against the increasing anthropogenic threats.
