About us

Blue Conservancy is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 with the goal of safeguarding marine ecosystems. Our mission is to protect the oceans from all those human practices that threaten their survival. Activities such as overfishing, pollution, habitat loss and excessive human pressure are driving many marine species to extinction, particularly in the Mediterranean Sea, which, according to the FAO, is now one of the most overexploited seas in the world. For this reason, at Blue Conservancy, we firmly believe that to preserve the oceans, it is no longer enough to safeguard only protected species. A greater effort is needed to protect all those species that do not enjoy protection, but are essential to maintaining a high level of biodiversity.
Protecting the oceans means protecting the blue planet. This is why we dream of a future in which humans can coexist with marine ecosystems without causing them any harm, and we fight every day to defend the sea and its inhabitants.
