About us
Karaganda Ecological Museum (EcoMuseum) is non-profit membership NGO, founded at 1995. EcoMuseum's mission is to investigate environmental problems in Central Kazakhstan, raise environmental awareness of local communities, and increase public influence on environmental situation and to develop democratic processes in the civil society through involvement of local communities and government in participating decision-making for improve environmental situation. The main areas of EcoMuseum’s activity include: - strengthening civil society to influence government policies for sustainable development; - development and promotion of environmentally friendly state policies and legislation for air quality, waste management and public involvement; - advocacy campaign in polluted hot spots; climate mitigation and adaptation to climate change; - rise environmental awareness of state and public; - conducting environmental research, environmental impact assessment (EIA), air and land pollutions, and providing consultancy support for public, government and business organizations.
