About us

The Zoological Foundation of El Salvador- FUNZEL works in favor of the conservation of the wild fauna of El Salvador; In recent years it has developed different activities with an emphasis on marine turtles, it also provides veterinary medical attention to injured wildlife animals, promotes the development of marine coastal communities and supports processes of awareness regarding respect for the environment.

With respect to sea turtles, FUNZEL currently protects beaches along the entire Salvadoran coast, where it has hatching pens for sea turtle eggs, works with communities to care for and protect beaches, and performs public releases of sea turtles. tortuguitas, the latter, prior to a talk about biology and importance in the conservation of these species.
