About us

             Huqooq-ul-Ebad Development Foundation (HEDF) is a research-driven non-profit organization committed to advancing sustainable development and social justice in Pakistan. HEDF was registered in 2012.  HEDF diligently operates under the auspices of the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance of 1961, dedicated to fostering substantial social change. 
            Our work aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of health, education, climate change, and social accountability. HEDF is actively. engaged in evidence-based advocacy, including our recent national survey on Climate Change and its Effects in Pakistan, which highlights the urgent environmental challenges facing the country. We also conducted pioneering research titled "Gender and Climate Change: How Environmental Degradation Amplifies Women's Vulnerabilities," shedding light on the disproportionate impact of climate change on women. Through community engagement, policy research, and strategic partnerships, HEDF strives to empower marginalized populations and foster resilient, informed, and inclusive communities. 
              The NGO has been granted “Special Consultative Status” with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2014 and has held the prestigious role of an accredited observer at the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEP) since 2018 as well as Accredited Observer with IPBES and IPCC etc.
