About us
RDPUganda is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization focused on youth governance and policy advocacy that began in 1998 as a sports group with support from the Danish Association for International Cooperation (MS). RDPUganda was formerly registered in Uganda as an NGO in 2005 when it undertook its first major governance work in her areas of operation. The organization was started by sports lovers from the districts of greater Masindi (Masindi, Kiryandongo and Buliisa), Greater Apac (Apac, Oyam and Kole) and Nakasongola and hence the name recreation. It was much used to mobilize the youth for other engagements and thus sports being used as a means for further intervention. Today, RDP Uganda is majorly known as a youth focused advocacy and governance organization that works to enhance youth participation to influence decision making and development in Lango and Bunyoro sub regions.
