About us
As part of our commitment to growth and our vision for the future, by the decision of the Members’ Assembly, validated by the Department for NGOs in the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 06/09/2024, the association have changed the organization’s name from Let’s Do It Peja to Rilindja Gjelbër, and our address from the Shtëpia e Kulturës, kati III, to Aleksandër Moisiu, Kati I, 30000, Pejë. Although our name has changed, we assure you that our core values and commitment to our partners, and to a "Greener and Cleaner Kosovo" remain unchanged. We will continue to offer the same level of dedication and action you have come to expect from us. The new name reflects our ongoing and firm commitment to green and sustainable initiatives, as well as our focus on a more environmentally conscious future. Rilindja Gjelbër – Green Renaissance is a community-based organization founded in 2012 with the goal of protecting the local environment. Since its official registration on July 3, 2014, the organization has grown into one of the most trusted environmental organizations for both local and international partners and donors. Our vision of a "Green and Clean Kosovo" is embodied through a variety of projects and activities aligned with our mission: "We Advocate, Educate, and Cooperate for the Protection of the Environment in Kosovo." Guided by the principle of "Leaving no one behind," a core value of the Sustainable Development Agenda, Rilindja Gjelbër ensures that its goals and objectives are inclusive of all social groups. We emphasize equality, non-discrimination, and respect for all human rights, regardless of gender, age, economic status, location, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or residential status. While we focus on inclusivity, our primary target group is youth. Our mid-term strategic plan includes dynamic actions for environmental protection and improvement in Kosovo, achieved through collaboration with local, national, and international organizations, as well as various institutions. We aim to promote environmental protection, reduce pollution, and raise awareness among citizens, businesses, and institutions responsible for safeguarding the environment. The organization's vision for a "Green and Clean Kosovo" is based in three key programmatic pillars: 1. Environmental Education and Awareness; 2. Advocacy for Strengthening Environmental Policies and Rule of Law; 3. Promotion of Circular Economy and Social Entrepreneurship. Our work is focused on six thematic areas: - Air; - Soil; - Water; - Waste; - Energy; - Biodiversity; Rilindja Gjelbër currently has 54 active members and volunteers from diverse age groups, genders, and professional backgrounds. The Members Assembly serves as the highest governing body of the organization, and decisions are executed by the Executive Director and staff. We currently have nine full-time employees. Rilindja Gjelbër holds accreditation from the European Solidarity Corps with a Quality Label for hosting international volunteers and supporting local volunteers abroad. Additionally, we are certified by TÜV for ISO 9001:2015 standards in Quality Management Systems.
