These fundraising channels include direct mail, face-to-face, special events, our website and social media. Strength In Numbers We rely on diverse voices and dedicated supporters to achieve unparalleled results. Hong Kong Program Hong Kong may be small, at just 1,108 square kilometers, and densely populated, with 7.3 million people and growing, but only 25 percent of the region’s land area has been developed. With the remaining 75 percent preserved as country parks or protected areas, we must ensure that providing for people does not come at the expense of these lands. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Hong Kong focuses on nature and its impact on quality of life for the territory’s primarily urban population–developing and growing support for the environment through our education program, and developing key estuary habitat restoration strategies to improve coastal resilience. Oyster Restoration You might recognize the famous golden oysters and oyster sauce produced out of Lau Fau Shan. TNC is using these oyster for estuary protection and restoration. a high priority amongst the general public and policy makers in Israel. We believe that strengthening the bond between people and the sea is the best way to protect it. We represent the international Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The Blue Flag program operates in over 4600 beaches and marinas globally. FEE helps us to facilitate an important partnership with the coastal Municipalities. We engage and recruit them to protect the marine environment by using FEE's international 'Blue Flag' renowned eco-label. EcoOcean accredit and inspect an average of 50 beaches annually. Under the Blue Flag program the following standards need to be adhered: Water Quality, Environmental management, Safety and services, Social responsibility, Environmental education information and Responsible operation around wildlife.
