About us
Puerto Rico is full of magnificent beaches, mangroves and coral reefs that are home to hundreds of species, from plants and birds to manatees and dolphins. But today, this vibrant island is still struggling to recover from Hurricane Maria's devastation. The fishing and tourism industries—the lifelines of the population—are more at risk than ever. It is critical to strengthen coastlines and restore ecosystems. The Nature Conservancy works to build resilience to the impacts of climate change and protect essential resources for Puerto Rico’s vulnerable communities.
