About us

Plan Vivo Foundation is a registered UK charity. For more than 25 years the Foundation has supported vulnerable rural communities across the world to develop innovative nature-based solutions (NBS) that reduce poverty, conserve important ecosystems, and tackle climate change.  

Plan Vivo does this through stewardship of its Standards (PV Climate & PV Nature) which are core sets of social, environmental and governance requirements that projects must meet to become Plan Vivo certified. 

The Foundation is internationally recognised for its focus on ethical and fairly-traded environmental services, operating a unique model which ensures at least 60% of the revenue generated from the sale of Plan Vivo Certificates goes back to the communities on the ground.
